ようこそ、CAFE YUBAへ
「YUBAって、湯葉のお店かな？」とよくご質問をいただきますが、実はそうではありません。
ここは岩蔵温泉。その名の由来は、“湯がおこる場所＝湯場（ゆば）”。
近くにかかる「湯場橋」の名も、かつてその地名が語られていたことを伝えています。
およそ30年前、小さな「湯元屋」という商店から始まりました。
その後、お土産屋「ゆば」として駄菓子やパン、ミルク、切手などを扱い、次第に地域の集いの場に。
そして20年ほど前、自然な流れでカフェへと進化を遂げました。
今ではCAFE YUBAとして、空間を拡張し、テラス席も設けて、ゆったりとした時間をお届けしています。

Welcome to CAFE YUBA!
You might wonder if “YUBA” refers to tofu skin—but actually, it comes from “yuba,” meaning a place of hot springs. The nearby bridge, “Yubabashi,” echoes this name.
About 30 years ago, this spot began as a small shop called “Yumotoya.” Over time, it evolved into a local sweets and souvenir store named “Yuba,” selling treats like old-fashioned candies, bread, milk, and stamps. About 20 years ago, it naturally transformed into the café you see today.
Now, CAFE YUBA offers expanded space and a cozy terrace—perfect for lingering over coffee and conversation.

Enjoy a tranquil moment on our terrace by the pond, or warm up beside our wood-burning stove indoors. There’s no single way to enjoy your time here—just relax, read, and unwind.
